Does it cost money to post an ad?
Hangar67 aircraft listings are free and will always be free. The cost to operate a classified site has been decreasing rapidly over the last several years. With decades of software expertise, we are able to build and operate Hangar67 at the fraction of the cost of our competitors. We pass these savings onto you.
How does Hangar67 market my aircraft listings?
We have a significant marketing budget dedicated to online marketing strategies that are measurable and cost-effective. We utilize Google, Facebook, and other channels to drive buyers to your listings. In addition, Hangar67 has a growing membership base. Members utilize our search engine, email alerts, and other tools to find aircraft they are interested in purchasing. Our weekly newsletter is sent to tens of thousands of members. We also stay in a constant software development mode to build new services and features that keep Hangar67 membership growing at an ever-increasing rate.
What types of planes sell well on Hangar67?
We have received feedback from sellers that aircraft listings from Cessna 172’s to Gulfstreams receive leads resulting in closed transactions. We have found that aircraft under $500,000 receive more email messages than phone calls and aircraft costing more than $500,000 receive more phone calls than emails, generally speaking. We expect the type of interactions on Hangar67 to evolve as we add features, aircraft listings, and new members.
How does Hangar67 make money?
We offer a lead generation service for aviation lenders and when a loan is closed, we receive a fee. This fee is paid by the lending institution - not the borrower. We also offer premium advertising solutions that include banner ads, email blasts, and other custom marketing solutions for the aviation industry. Furthermore, we build websites for aircraft brokers and dealers. We have plans for more premium services but you can be assured that aircraft listings will always be free.
How do I get Hangar67 to automatically crawl my website for listings?
Our software team has developed the smartest web crawler in the aviation industry. We worked with one of the lead developers at GoDaddy who was in charge of crawling 50 million websites. The Hangar67 web crawler can:
- Keep the listings on your website in-sync with Hangar67 without you lifting a finger.
- We add your new listings within 24 hours of your posting aircraft on your website.
- We remove listings when you mark them as “SOLD” or if you remove them from your website.
- We also check your website for price updates, if you provide a price. For example, if you decrease the price on your website, we capture the change, update your listing, and notify the right members.
Contact us today to have us sync your website listings at no cost. All listings are free.
Will Hangar67 post my ads for me?
We have full-time customer service representatives that are happy to help post your ads. We suggest starting by posting your ad as best you can. Then, contact us and we can help you through the process.
Can I track the performance of my ad?
We provide real-time analytics for your aircraft listings. Our online reporting will show you how many listing views you have received by day, number of email leads, phone call button clicks, and a running list of visitors viewing your ad including the date and time, the visitors country, and other reporting facts. Every ad on Hangar67 gets significant exposure to the community and we openly share this data with you.
We also provide you a tool to download all the messages you have received from interested buyers. While we email you on all inquiries, you also have a web page to download all of your messages in a CSV format.
How many photos can I upload for my ad?
Unlimited. We want you to be able to fully showcase your aircraft. We also allow you to upload videos. Again, all of these features are at no cost to you.
Can I upload logs and other documents related to my aircraft?
Yes, you can have an unlimited number of PDF documents uploaded to your listing. Buyers want to review maintenance logs and if you have them readily available in your listing, you save yourself a step in the purchasing process. There is no charge to upload documents.
My site is hosted by another classified site, can Hangar67 automatically post my ads?
The Hangar67 Web Crawler is very smart.
The crawler can pick up new listings, deactivate removed listings,
and update prices without any human intervention. We do review all changes but the
heavy lifting is done by the web crawler. However, some websites disallow
us from crawling your advertisements. For example, states they own the
copyright to your hosted listings on their site and we respect terms and conditions of our
competitors. If you host your website with Controller or another service that might be
considered competitive, then contact us and we
can discuss other means of posting your ads and delivering you quality leads. A multi-pronged
marketing approach always yields better results than advertising on one site alone.
Can prospects call me?
Yes. You can provide your phone number in your ad and prospects can call you directly. While many buyers send messages to our sellers, we do not reveal your email as to prevent you from receiving spam.
How do I email my aircraft to the Hangar67 membership?
Buyers on Hangar67 can create email alerts. These email alerts are created from searches performed by prospective buyers. For example, someone in the market for a Cessna Mustang can create an email alert for Cessna Mustangs. They can choose to be notified daily or weekly. Buyers are then emailed new listings or listings with price updates matching their search criteria. What does this mean for sellers? As soon as your ad is approved, you will start receiving traffic to your listing, driven by email alerts.
We also send a weekly email driving traffic to all the aircraft posted on the Hangar67 website over the previous 7 days. The weekly email is sent every Saturday morning. This is another source of email marketing you receive at no cost when you post on Hangar67.
Who receives aircraft email alerts?
In order to receive aircraft email alerts containing new listings, we need an email address to send listings to. We ask that visitors become Hangar67 members which then gives them the ability to create as many email alerts as they like. Someone might have an alert for “Cessna and G750” and “Cessna 421C after 1980”. Any search on Hangar67 can be converted into an email alert.
Do I have to provide a price on my listing?
No. If you leave the price blank a message is left on your ad reading, “Contact Seller”. We suggest posting a price only because ads with prices get more inquiries and interest than ads without.
How do I download all my email inquiries?
We provide a “Messages” page for all aircraft sellers. Many companies use this page to download their messages/inquiries to a CSV and import that CSV into their Sales CRM. For example, we have integrated with Salesforce and NetSuite but most Sales CRM applications provide an import feature.
How do I manage my aircraft listings?
The Hangar67 Ad Manager provides you a list of all your ads posted on Hangar67. From this page you can activate, inactivate, update, view statistics, and more for each of your ads.
Is Hangar67 affiliated with any broker or dealer?
No. We are a marketing and software company and do not work with any aircraft brokers or dealers specifically. We will always remain fair and unbiased by remaining a free and independent classified site for all aircraft brokers, dealers, and owners. We do offer opportunities for brokers and dealers to boost their exposure on Hangar67 through advertising packages. Learn more about advertising here.
