Classic Commander Character. Modern Capability. Seriously Comfortable. This 1978 Rockwell International Commander 114 combines the substantial, comfortable feel of a classic Commander with a modern avionics suite, beautifully refreshed cosmetics, and the performance to make it a serious cross-country machine. Powered by a 260-horsepower Lycoming IO-540-T4B5D turning a McCauley three-blade constant-speed propeller, N5804N cruises at 150+ knots while burning approximately 14 GPH in normal cruise. With 68 gallons of usable fuel, that translates into a published normal cruise range of approximately 650 nautical miles. The panel has been thoughtfully upgraded around a Garmin G3X 10.7-inch display, giving the pilot a modern primary flight display and a clean interface for the aircraft's extensive avionics suite, which includes the Garmin GTN 650xi. The aircraft also features an S-TEC 60-2 autopilot, fully integrated with the Garmin flight deck and supported by an S-TEC ST-360 altitude preselect/hold/alerter and S-TEC yaw damper. From mechanical refurbishments to the bones of the plane (tanks resealed, new elevator spar hardware, upgraded circuit breakers, etc.) to the cosmetics, avionics, and beyond, review the full specs list and logbooks to appreciate what a special example this Commander 114 is. N5804N isn't trying to be a new airplane. It's a classic airplane that has been thoughtfully brought into the modern era. |
