Another one saved! This Comanche 250 was owned by an older gentleman who did not keep up on the maintenance. Additionally, there were periods of sitting. When he had passed away, the widow decided to deregister the aircraft with the FAA and sell the plane as scrap for liability reasons. The current owner, who is an A&P with aircraft refurbishing experience, bought the plane in 2012 to turn N8201P into the N45888 you see today. The one-year refurbishment ended with a highly detailed inspection by the FAA resulting in a brand-new airworthiness certificate. The airplane is beautiful and has won an award at Oshkosh and has been featured in the Comanche Flyer magazine. The owner is selling so he can find another one to save. Fun fact on the new tail number…the owner’s wife picked it…”45888” on the phone key pad spells “I LUV U”…pretty sweet!
